Currently I’m still living in a tiny temporary apartment in Munich, but we have already started planning out how we’ll arrange furniture and decorate our final flat here. I don’t want to give away anything yet, but I thought I’ll share some inspirational pics with you, since all I can think about right now are sofas, desks and wall paint shades.
I’ve noticed that the ‘glossy’ look I’m attracted to most is the all-white-one: white walls, withe furniture, pastel decorations and flower patterns. Still, I think that actually living in an all-white apartment might not be the right thing for me (no, I’m not really a cleaning freak). On top of that, all our furniture is light wooden and our sofa is orange, so there really is no way to pull that off without major investment in new stuff. However, this look is worth a second glance: I love how light and airy the whole room feels.
I also like a variation of the all-white-look – the shabby chic one. It’s also dreamy and delicate, but it has this twist of vintage and cottage style chic that is irresistible. I might integrate some shabby decorations in our flat – I already own a similar tin jug and that wooden crate is a must-have!
So, looking for a design featuring a non-white couch and light wood furniture I’ve stumbled upon Catherine Hammerton’s flat. I love the color accents and the Mediterranean wood blinds at the window. Unfortunately we’re not able to get the gorgeous wooden floor she has (we’ve got sensible carped floors in the new flat) but I will probably give in and buy the stunning IKEA pillows you can see on the couch.
Another colorful design I liked was this one, and please notice the awesome color block wall on the right. I also think it’s a fantastic example of how to mix different patters and still achieve an unitary design:
Since the living room will also be our work area, I had to come up with some clever workspace ideas too. I love how this office space looks and we will definitely have our own IKEA Expedit shelves in the new apartment. I think that these storage table feet are pretty clever too. And I totally like the look of the Expedit shelves with those neat little square boxes made from rattan.
I also love love love this cute girly desk here – it’s great to surround yourself with pretty things you like! Inspiration booster
As for the walls and such, I’ve taken inspiration from these two photos:
I still have one inspirational photo left that I want to share. We will not be able to put it in practice, since our landlord owns the whole kitchen. But if you have your own kitchen or at least your own cupboard, I think this is a great idea to spice up your kitchen:
…and I definately need to get one of these – they’re so practical for photographing my necklaces and tote bags, not to mention showing off my best outfits:
You might notice that I have shown nothing for the bedroom – this is simply because we have a tiny tiny bedroom which you can’t play with much. But of course I have some ideas for it too. I’ll say just one word: bunting.

This all looks so amazing, I’m sure your new flat will be so cool!
I’m all for the all-white look, but I think that adding some color makes it all more fun.
Also, Catherine’s apartment is one of my all time favorites – just gorgeous!
Oh, that green bedroom is really lovely and..fresh!
