Felted Bunnies and felted Squirrels

Thanks to the very interesting series of Breslo contests (see the Forums for the actual contest theme) I created some more felted animals! Those of you who looked in my Breslo shop of who follow me on Facebook might already know what I am talking about.

Nelson the felted Bunny has been created for a pink-white-green themed contest. Seeing how successful Rosa previously was, I decided to enter the contest with a felted bunny instead of a felted bear, for more variation. And it was a wise choice because Nelson won the 2nd prize, after a very close tie (actually, I missed the first prize just by one vote). *proud* If you wonder why Nelson got this name, it’s because my Dad had a rabbit when he was young, and that rabbit was called Nelson. So my felted bunny is a tribute to the original rabbit Dad owned.

I have received a lot of inquiries about selling Nelson (no, I am not selling him) but if you wish I can needle felt a bunny custom made just for you. So, after winning the contest the rule is to offer a prize in the next contest. This is how Brick the felted Squirrel was created. Brick got his name because of my boyfriend: when I first started the felting process, I asked my boyfriend to guess what animal it would be based on the wool colour I was using (reddish-brown). He instantly replied “It’s a brick!”

That’s the story of the felted bunny and squirrel, and the feedback was very positive: I have received so far requests for another bunny and squirrel and also a sheep and an owl. I can’t wait to get started and show you the final results!
